We ate lunch here today. Friendly staff and decent food. The tap beer selection was great and they offer beer flights. I really enjoyed by prime rib dip sandwich.

Two adults and two children for dinner. It was "Wing Tuesday" (free side w/ a regular order of wings), but we were in the mood for burgers and they were excellent. Hospitality was also second to none. If you're passing through Cle Elum, I'd highly recommend it!

Always a great experience here! Love the food and the service! Great atmosphere. Our favorite server is Hayden!!!! We will be back in there within a week. I totally recommend!

Another great experience at the Caboose! The quesadillas rock my world, the kids menu is great, as are the fried oysters, and the staff is so cool and accommodating. When traffic hit after we put our to-go order in they stopped the order, told us to call back when we hit Easton and started cooking it then so it was fresh when we got there. Love these guys!

Five of us ate dinner here and it was outstanding. Good choices of burgers, sandwiches and salads which was what we wanted. We chose a chicken fried steak sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, club sandwich with lots of meat and cheese that must have been 3" tall and a French dip. Their skinny fries are great. The young man waiting on us was super polite and attentive. It is clean and we will go back.

I write this review while I sit I the Burger King drive through. We spent nearly two hours in The Caboose. We ordered within 5 minutes but 90 minutes later had no food. We observed that the kitchen cooks one order at a time. Once our food arrived both orders were completely wrong. The bartender admitted it was her fault and put in the correct order. Nearly 30 minutes later our new burgers were still not on he grill. So we cashed out and yes had to pay for our drinks. 2 hours and no food. Burger King it is. As a note to the staff: when you screw up... Give some urgency to the fix.

We came in hungry and skeptical, pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Our waitress was completely focused on our happiness and had a sweet pixie hairdo! Would recommend highly!

It is a locals hide out . Great country mix and the staff is alive singing along having a good time. You can tell they enjoy their job . OMG the food is bar food and may not be good for you. But it is GOOD! You will not walk away hungry . Darkish bar setting , old decor, a brighter pool bar is just through the arch . The locals are fun to watch and I bet each had a story as they sit up at the bar and watch everyone . What is with Ranier Beer over here ? It's everywhere . Lol. Decent spirit selection at the bar , it is a feel good place old school setting . Pull tabs , weekday specials even Thursday bar bingo .. Lol .

Some of the best pub food I have had in a long time, with a solid beer selection to boot. They don't skimp on the tater tots either, and I respect that. We stopped here on our way back to Seattle from the Gorge and it couldn't have been a better pitstop. I'd be a regular if I didn't live so far away. You'll be seeing me again soon.

Spent the night in Cle Elum, WA. Lucky for us it was a Friday. Went to The Caboose Bar and Grill for a beer. Friday night special was prime rib, baked potato and salad for $14.95. My wife had the prime rib and I ordered the Caboose burger. Best prime rib I have ever tasted and the best cheese burger I've ever eaten. This is a must stop place. They have a wonderful IPA on tap and "14 Hands" wine, a great Washington state wine. Friendly service. Kids welcomed. Go!!!

A solid pub with straight-forward pub food Given that the choices in Cle Elum are rather limited, this is a good choice if you want burgers and fries, beer, fish and chips, and similar items. It simple but good. What you see is what you get.

While staying in the area for our anniversary, my wife and I decided to give the Caboose a try based on the decent reviews. My wife started her meal with a side dinner salad which had obviously been shipped in a plastic bag and poured into her bowl. She followed that up with their club sandwich and gave it some high marks. She is usually fairly critical of her beloved club. Due to the tremendous size of the sandwich she was only able to finish half. Based on our very attentive waitresses recommendation I had the prime rib dip. It was tasty, tender, fresh, and fantastic! Both sandwiches were accompanied with some very good string cut fries. The Caboose is your standard small town dive bar lacking character but with some pretty decent eats.

Had southwest burger - quite tasty. Good choice of beers. Friendly bartenders and patrons - felt right at home.

Wow is all I can say. Great food, great service! I went to the Caboose for the first time a few weeks ago and can't wait to go back. Our server was amazing, she had a nearly packed house and rocked it. I ordered the blue cheese burger with mushrooms and it was fantastic. I loved the roll it came on, a nice switch up from the average burger bun. The fries, oh the fries, so delicious I had to MAKE myself stop eating them to leave room for that fantastic burger. If you haven't been, GO!

We stopped for a late lunch and were very pleased. Very clean. Wait staff knowledgeable and friendly. Generous portions and very tasty. Kids loved the shoestring fries! Club sandwich was a favorite for my husband and son. We will definitely be back.

UPDATE: Yes, the Caboose closed for about two months. New owners, same menu, lighter decor and good food.

We came through Cle Elum on the first night of a cross country road trip and stopped at Caboose for dinner. The food was excellent, the wait staff was fantastic, and it was all around a great experience!

We always enjoyed going to the Caboose for a light dinner and some beer and wine when we were in town for Moosefest. Unfortunately, I understand from one of the locals that the business has closed and is for sale. Note: I understand from a friend who lives in the area that the Caboose is again open.

Food here is a good value; service was friendly and accommodating. It's obviously a local hangout, with plenty of characters, but we two out-of-towners felt welcome there. Caution - no baked potatoes on taco night!

We expected better because the yelp reviews were good. NOT the case. Dirty, slow service, and mediocre food. Definitely not a place we would go to again. We were traveling through town on vacation so we relied on the reviews and were disappointed.

We decided to try the caboose after the service at Suncadia was so bad. A good rule of thumb is to always go to where the locals eat and this is one of those places. Old timers playing cards, pull tabs, bud light paraphernalia, pudding shots and country tunes playing make for a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. We were there on Presidents' Day with a snow storm bearing down and the one lone waitress/cook was doing it all by herself!!! The place was busy and she never missed a beat. She was friendly and very accommodating. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. Now that's service!!! We'd go back for lunch again. The food was good and the beer was cold. Perhaps well try the pudding shots next time as well

Good food at a reasonable price. Even better, it's close to my house! It's an easy walk to meet friends and family from out of town. The food has always been consistently good and with the new owners, it's been stepped up a notch. Give the blue cheese burger a try....

My husband and I have been seeing signs for the Caboose B&G for years when we go camp near Ronald, but couldn't figure out where it was. Well, thanks to Google maps, we found it on Sunday and went in for a Seahawks game since we were nearby-ish. Best place to watch a game! Lots and lots of seating and TV's (and no one can block your view, which is a real problem if you're short like me). There was an outside patio with a TV, which was nice on a sunny day, but we chose to sit inside with the A/C :) Food was pretty good. We got the Hog wings and they were huge! I chose to get it with sweet thai chili sauce, but you could have it with BBQ sauce or whatever really. Came with skinny fries - the best kind. My husband randomly got the chessecake - who gets cheesecake at a bar during a football game? My husband. It was caramel cheesecake and it was pretty good. Service was great. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Typical bar decor, clean and spacious. Will definitely be back if we are 1) in the area and 2) there is a game on.

Stopped here about a week ago. My mom and little sister picked this place out cause they thought the name was funny. We asked our waitress, Kelsea(sweet as can be and so attentive!), what her fave was and my sisters and I went with it. The chicken club was delicious. I absolutely loved the skinny crispy fries. Mom got the caboose burger and loved it, said it was juicy. Although the food did take a little while to come out our waitress(and her brother who works the bar I believe) came by multiple times to check on us and our drinks. I'll definitely be stopping there more often on my way through the mountains.

Went here a few weeks ago to watch a football game. Fortunately, they just opened a new dining room, so there is plenty of space during hawks games. Unfortunately, they don't have the staff or kitchen size to handle the amount of guests. We waited over an hour for food with little to no service. To make it worse, the waitress kept blaming other people for the slow service. I I do give the Caboose 2 stars and not 1 though because the food is pretty good quality (especially for a place was mainly a bar until recently) and having been there many times before with better experiences. That all being said, if your in the Cle Elum area and looking for a good dining experience I wood look somewhere else. I hope they expand their kitchen size and wait staff; they need help!

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Northeastern Oregon. So glad we found it! It was awesome! Hubby had an amazing prime rib dip. I was super jealous I didn't order it. My bacon blue burger however was very tasty. And while not normally a fan of skinny fries, theirs were excellent! Very friendly service. Not too busy when we first got there but a few construction workers were coming in as we were leaving.

My husband and I are locals and have been here several time. After tonight's experience we will not be going back. We arrived at about 4:45. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone even came to greet us and ask if we wanted a drink. we the wait another 15 minutes to get our beers. There was at least three wait staff and very few customers. Once they took our order (fish and chips and a burger) it took another 30 minutes to get our order. Once we got it I had to send mine back, the fish was burned. No one ever said gee we are sorry. It seems to me if you are in a small town you would try a little hard to please your customers. During the time we were their I felt we were invisible. At one point during our time their there were several people waiting to get served and not one felt the need to assist them, one wait staff was to busy counting her tips, another was busy eating behind the bar. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

The staffing has gotten much better in the latter part of 2014. Great food and prices. Need to change the tiny little french fries, they are not very good.

The Caboose Bar has always been a good place to stop for a cold one or great food. They have a menu above most bar food. Plus they now have a pool room as part of the fun. Plenty of T.V.'s for your sports fix. Relax kick back and enjoy!

"Caboose Burger - no pickles, please." One night just cruisin' a bit and hungry. Richie, I think his name was, was just swamped on Saturday. Kind of the tunnel-focus, the brow-wipe, etc. But he was still on the rails, I thought, so that was cool. Composed. He's a good dude. He didn't know what a Whiskey Ginger was; I guess they didn't have ginger ale. He had that "looking at you and also out at space" look. "Ok, nevermind. Just a mac n jack's'll do." I decided to leave a 20%+ tip since you don't often see an overpacked, bumpy speeding train still on the rails. The burger was great, too. And those skinny fries. Not the best nor my preference but they were nice, crispy. Skinny fries also fry faster for those fry fanatics out there which = faster turnover. A cool, laid-back local bar where you can grab a table or perch at the bar counter and just chill.

I just love coming across little spots like this in small towns and this is one of the better ones. Nothing terribly innovative, just delicious, hearty food that's prepared well. Offerings involve burgers, sandwiches, salads and even clam strips. I had the Caboose burger on a ciabatta roll with spicy caboose sauce along with their thin shoestring fries. The fries were excellent, crisp and well seasoned. They have a decent micro brew selection and plenty of tvs to watch the game. I believe they do happy hour too. We had the pleasure of being served by a nice, older gentleman. This place is worth a stop for the weary traveler.

They've got a good beer selection and friendly staff but I'd say the food is nothing to write home about. It's bar food that does the job, though.

Ok where to start ... I came in with a large group that had pre-ordered our food. After two hours the food was coming out a couple orders every 10 minutes. When I finally received my order the first thing I did was check the fries- yep, ICE COLD. When I brought this to the waitresses attention she told me "I am not in the kitchen". Excuse me? As the owner of a food establishment, I would have fired her on the spot. What a horribly poor representative of business. The owner couldn't possibly know how badly his business is being seen in the eyes of his customers. We quit buying drinks because we decided not to give them any more of our hard earned money. Never ever ever again.

Very good - had chicken bacon sandwich and the girls had mozzarella sticks and salad. All three were very good and service was very attentive - would definitely come in again when passing through!

Local spot on the main drag. Older but seemed cleaned. Families are welcome. Waitress was good. Food wasn't too bad. Try the 'rail' sauce with your onion rings or tots. The place is worth a try.

TERRIFIC TACO TUESDAY!! Chicken or Beef on corn tortillas 2 for $1.00. Can't go wrong. They had 8 on staff that I saw so wait time was short and waitress was very attentive. You can tell the staff enjoyed working on this night. We felt very welcomed!!

Great place to stop for a beer as a midway point when driving from Seattle to Leavenworth for a day trip. Full bar with a great selection of beer on tap. There are pull tabs and that is always fun. I didn't have any food and didn't notice if there was a menu or not, so I can't review any food items. The atmosphere was great, plenty of seating, great and attentive service. There were televisions to view any sport game. I would over all consider this a sports bar. I enjoyed my time, was glad we stopped to stretch our legs and grab a drink to relax the rest of the drive. Nobody won with the pull tabs, but there is always NEXT TIME.

Very tasty burger, and the sauce they put on it actually brings some flavor to the party, instead of just being mayonnaise. Their fries a little too skinny for my taste, but fried to perfection. The also have a good selection of beer on tap Highly recommended
